It is the weekend.
It has been a long week.
First the great stuff......
This little man of ours turned seven. We successfully baked a number 7 cake, which after last year caused this Mama to breathe a huge sigh of relief.
This guy is awesome, my middle, born on a hot Spring morning. A fiery Scorpio, concerned with fairness and a good outcome for everyone. He thinks and feels deeply and loves hard. Smart and funny and so very, very sweet. Happy Birthday gorgeous man. I hope this year is as wonderful as you are.
Then the not so great stuff.
We spent two sleepless nights battling croup with the littlest, and the biggest was home from school with a nasty cough which kept him awake at night and made him feel miserable in the day.
A very tired Mama and Daddy and two tired littles led to a few raised voices and quick tempers. So this weekend is for recuperation.
Lots and lots of snuggles. A little baking (maybe a carrot cake). A little knitting, I am working on a test knit at the moment, using a lovely, lovely grey Australian merino yarn. Some painting and crafting time for the boys. A re-staking of the tomatoes. Perhaps some sewing which has been very neglected lately. I have been gifted a wonderful 1970's Singer sewing machine. She needed to see the sewing machine doctor after sitting quietly in a cupboard for 20 or so years but she is back home now and is all spruced up and ready to sew. Though she does need a name. I am also planning to catch up on some sleep.
Wishing you a restful weekend as well.
Joining in for the Stills this week

ReplyDeletehappy birthday to your 7 year old- glad you had some success with the cake. Hope health & rest improve this week!
ReplyDeleteSusie. That's a name fitting the 70s.
ReplyDeleteOh I do so hope there is lots and lots of rest for you all this weekend. Do take care.
Sleep deprivation does all sorts of nasty things doesn't it. It's not nice. We had one of those nights earlier in the week with teething. Dreadful! I hope you have had the chance to catch up on some sleep! Thank-you for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. It is so appreciated. Melinda x
