It sits on the stove.
I like that it hums when the water is boiling.
I like that I have to wait a little for my tea.
I like that I think of my Grandmother.
I like all of this
the homeliness,
the slowing down,
the connection with the past.
I like that it is black.
I like that it is sleek.
I like that it is modern.
I like that I use it to make tea.
